Diwali is the festival of Hindus celebrated with high spirits, great enthusiasm and full fever not only in India but also across the border.Like all other festivals, Diwali also has numerous traditions and rituals and wordings associated to it since the time immemorial. There are many sayings and wordings about Diwali which conveys its real essence and significance to the common man. There is a wording that describe Diwali as the festival of lights and celebration which calls for spreading the festive spirit among your friends, family, acquaintances, colleagues and loved ones. another one says that Diyas lighting up Diwali Night signifies the divine message of Diwali, that of the victory of good over evil and the celebration of light over darkness.This Divine Message of Diwali is"Thamasomaa jyotirgamaya" this age old Sanskrit phrase can be translated as "lead me from darkness to light" which means that where ever there is darkness a ray of light is needed.

One more wording about Diwali holds that the flames of the Diya represent the light of hope and the blessings of life. The light from these divas reminds us that good always emerges victorious over evil and we go forward in confidence that it will continue to prevail in the future. All in all we can say that the festival of Diwali is about bonding, of ritual, of a belief that that good will always triumph over evil for dark night must always make way for morning light.
