Prayers on Diwali Puja
Diwali is a celebration that is powered with lot of vigor, zeal and enthusiasm. It is vibrant Hindu festival celebrated with great pomp and show. According to the most famous legend, diwali is celebrated in the honor of lord Ram's return to ayodhaya with Sita and Lakshman after an exile of fourteen years and a glorious victory over Ravana - the demon king of Lanka. This enigmatic festival of light drive away the darkness and light up every soul on the earth. For most of the people, this festival is marked by Lakshmi puja. For many, this is the beginning of new financial year, all in all this is a day to worship all the god and goddess who have created this beautiful World and gave us this precious life. |

This auspicious diwali day could be sanctify by performing a set of diwali prayers. There are morning prayers and evening prayers. On diwali, morning prayers start with Shankhanaad. Then Pratah Ganesha Smaran is done. It is followed by recitation of Snan Mantra and Gayatri Mantra. After that Ganesha Poojan and Gauri Poojan is performed. This is followed by Guru Aavahan and Ram Aavahan (invoking guru and Lord Ram). Now it comes Tulsi Stuti and then Lakshmi Dhyaan (meditating upon goddess Lakshmi). After this Shardabhujang Ashtakam and Kuber Stuti(worship of god of wealth). Then finally there is Mangal Kaamna(prayer for welfare).
In the evening, another series of prayers are done. Like the morning prayers, evening prayers of diwali also began with Shankhanaad which is followed by Sayam Ganesha Smaran. Then the Deep Poojan is performed. This is followed by recitation of Ashatlakshmi Stotra. Then there is Deepdanam. After that Shiva Prarthana and Hanuman Raksha Stotram are enchanted. Finally there is recitation of Shanti Path which calls for the spread peace in the entire world. |
