Diwali is the religious and grand festival of Hindus, It is also celebrated by Sikhs, Christian and muslims in various parts of the world like in India, UAE, Nepal, UK, USA, Arab countries. It is called the festival of lights and victory of good over evil. It is celebrated just 20 days after the holy festival Dussehra. The story behind Dussehra is when Lord Ram killed the demon Ravana and made Lanka free from the evil power of Asuras. Lord Ram fought a battle of ten days with the help of Vanar sena with Ravana who had abducted his wife Sita. On this day we burn the statue of Ravana along with his assistant Meghnath and Kumbhkarana.

The story behind Diwali is that Lord Ram along with Sita and Lakshman returned to Ayodhya after spending fourteen years of his life in exile in the forest. He returned home after defeated Ravan. Kids play with firecrackers and have fun on this day. People usually wear new dresses on that day.
